Lou Bucelli, President & CEO

​

Lou works with start-ups and universities to identify and commercialize new technologies through highly motivated, market-focused, subject-matter-expert business teams. He has thirty-five years of experience in developing, managing, and investing in high growth businesses. 

 

Lou is an Entrepreneur-in-Residence to Temple University’s Blackstone LaunchPad—funded by the Blackstone Foundation, a co-curricular, experiential, campus program designed to introduce venture-creation as a viable career path for students. He is a consultant to Temple Ventures: Temple University and Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Southeastern Pennsylvania joint initiative—a mega million startup accelerator designed to assist startup companies advancing Temple-created technologies. Lou has lectured on entrepreneurship at Colorado State, Rowan, Drexel, and Swinburne University, Australia. He is a mentor in the National Science Foundation (NSF) Innovation Corps (I-Corps.).

Lou was CEO of CMECourses.com — an e-commerce site promoting continuing medical education programs, which he co-founded in August 1999. HealthStream a publicly traded e-learning company acquired the business in 2000. He was principal in Library Automation Technology, and publisher of Private Practice Publications. He served as President and CEO of CME Information Services, a company he co-founded in 1989. CME was a high growth, distance medical education company that partnered with Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, Johns Hopkins, Harvard, UCLA, and Memorial Sloan Kettering, among others leading medical institutions.

Lou has numerous awards: Ranked on the Inc. 500 list of fastest growth companies in America and the Philly Top 100 for three consecutive years. Named Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year for emerging business

Lou has an MS in Finance from Drexel University; attended the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School, and Temple University and is a Board Member of the United Way of Camden County. Board Member NASTAR Foundation.

Thirty five + years experience managing organizations focused on the delivery of products and services to the Department of Defense, Homeland Security, and various Federal Agencies. Ed’s expertise is the management of complex multidisciplinary organizations and partnerships supporting the Department of Defense, federal agencies, industrial and academic partners. 30 years of experience directing vertically integrated engineering and support operations consisting of RDT&E, systems design, manufacturing, integration, test and systems qualification.

Ed is a corporate strategist and tactician with an unwavering work ethic and irreproachable integrity. Ed possess a consistent track record of developing new clients and expanding existing revenue streams.
